Fortaegis raises oversubscribed $50 million Series A to accelerate the global deployment of Secure Compute

The investment accelerates commercial production and deployment of Fortaegis' full-stack Secure Compute architecture to deliver security, speed and scale across a broad range of defense and civilian industries, as AI and quantum computing force fundamental shifts in digital infrastructure.

Amsterdam, the Netherlands — September 13, 2026

Fortaegis Technologies (“Fortaegis”) has announced an oversubscribed $50 million Series A, led by Serendipity Capital, as the company accelerates its transition from technology validation into commercial production and global deployment of its Secure Compute architecture across AI infrastructure, defense and autonomous systems, advanced manufacturing, telecommunications, critical infrastructure and automotive.

AI is revolutionizing the pace and autonomy of computing, while quantum computing is challenging the cryptographic foundations on which today’s systems rely. At the same time, control over compute, data and critical infrastructure is becoming a strategic imperative for governments and industry. Fortaegis is pioneering Secure Compute for the demands of this new era.

The Fortaegis Silicon Platform is a full-stack Secure Compute architecture spanning hardware, firmware, cryptography and software. By rooting security in the physical properties of silicon and extending identity, security, policy and orchestration across every enabled node, the architecture is designed to establish trust at machine speed and scale across millions of devices and agents while being naturally and entirely quantum-safe.

“The security and prosperity of the West and its allies increasingly depend on who controls the foundations of compute. AI and quantum are making that question more urgent. Fortaegis was founded on the conviction that security cannot remain something we add on top of digital systems — it must become part of the foundations of compute itself. This investment allows us to accelerate that mission globally.”
— Boudewijn Wijnands, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Fortaegis Technologies
“Computing infrastructure is the central arena of geopolitical and economic competition today. As AI advances and quantum computing takes off, security and control of computing foundations are essential. Fortaegis is addressing that challenge at the architectural level.”
— Chris Miller, US Board Member of Fortaegis Technologies and author of Chip War

From technology validation to global deployment

Since its inception in October 2023, Fortaegis has expanded across Europe, the United States and Asia and is working with more than 25 enterprises and governments across semiconductor infrastructure, defense, AI infrastructure, telecommunications and other critical industries.

Customer-funded development programs and platform selections are increasingly progressing from technical validation into production qualification and commercial deployment. Fortaegis has filed 17 patents, with a further 14 in the pipeline, and has demonstrated connection performance more than 200 times faster than conventional approaches in internal and customer testing, while being quantum-safe by design.

The same hardware-rooted architecture supports multiple deployment methods, including server rack mounted, ruggedized edge, compact edge and embedded silicon, delivering Secure Compute through one unified infrastructure: The Fortaegis Silicon Platform.

“AI and quantum computing are not incremental shifts; they are changing the architecture of computing itself. Having founded and then built Quantinuum, I have seen how technologies that begin at the frontier can become foundational infrastructure. Fortaegis has the technology and ambition to do the same forSecure Compute — making security intrinsic to computing from silicon upward — and will become one of the hottest companies around as it becomes integral and essential for the rollout of compute in the next decades. Remember the name!”
— Ilyas Khan, Chairman of Fortaegis Technologies and Founder of Quantinuum

Commercial validation and scaling

Fortaegis is working with governments, global enterprises and strategic technology partners on programs where security, performance and resilience are mission-critical. These engagements are increasingly progressing from customer-funded engineering and technical validation into product qualification and production deployment.

The investment will enable the company to scale production and commercial deployment of its FPGA products across the United States, Europe, Singapore and Japan and to advance the ASIC roadmap, while growing its engineering and commercial capacity.

“Secure Compute will become increasingly important across many industries. Fortaegis has developed a strong foundational technology, and we are committed to supporting its transition to scalable production and deployment.”
— Peter Janssen, Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Prodrive Technologies

Series A investor group

The Series A brings together investors spanning critical technology, semiconductors, industrial infrastructure, research, quantum computing, AI, defense, space and geopolitics.

The round was led by returning investor Serendipity Capital. Strategic, supply-chain and industrial participation includes TEL Venture Capital (CVC of Tokyo Electron) and TNO, alongside Prodrive Technologies. Other investors include NP-Hard Ventures, NovaCapital, Access Ventures and Coalition Capital.

Individual participants include Ilyas Khan, Quantinuum founder and Fortaegis Chairman; Ian Fujiyama, Head of Global Aerospace, Defense and Government at Carlyle; and Peter Frankopan, Professor of Global History at Oxford University and author of The Silk Roads.

“The most consequential deep-tech companies do more than improve an existing category — they create a new layer of infrastructure. We invested in Fortaegis because it is building exactly that: an architecture spanning silicon, hardware and software for a security challenge that becomes more important as AI, autonomy and quantum computing scale. We believe Secure Compute will own the foundational layer across both commercial and national-security infrastructure.”
— Rob Jesudason, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Serendipity Capital
